Benefits of Jiu-Jitsu include:
• A great workout
• Increased mobility and flexibility,
• Mental as well as physical stimulation

What is Muay Thai?

Muay Thai or Thai Boxing originated in Thailand and was adapted from an older form of martial arts called Muay boran (ancient boxing). The main concept of Muay Thai is to master the eight points of the body and is referred to as “the art of the eight limbs” consisting of fists, elbows, knees and shin/feet which are used to perform a variety of strikes along with combining grappling moves while standing. Grappling allows components to be very effective at close range and is one of the reasons that Muay Thai has become the foundation for many mixed martial arts competitions.

Benefits of Muay Thai include:
• Improved physique
• Improved flexibility and balance
• Improved self confidence
• Increased levels of mental alertness

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

Traditionally, martial arts are divided into one of two categories, strike based fighting including karate, taekwondo and boxing and grappling including jiu-jitsu, judo and wresting. Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) was created to merge the two fighting techniques into one single disciplined form.

MMA is not only designed for professional competitors. In you are interested in learning a style of martial arts that will also teach you self-discipline and get you in great shape, why not select one of the most diverse and varied forms of martial arts available? At Allegiance Gym, our MMA classes are designed to teach you the knowledge and skills you need to handle practically every situation. Boxing and kickboxing will teach you to strike, dodge and block and perform grapples in a standing position. If you are brought down to the ground, you can utilize your jiu-jitsu and wresting skills to help you out of a compromising situation. MMA is an effective discipline that can be learned as a form of self-defense. Many of our students never use mixed martial arts training to enter competitions but instead used the training for self-improvement and confidence.

Benefits of MMA include:
• learned discipline
• excellent form of physical workout
• Teaches self-control under pressure
• Relieves stress
